# ReroofPulse Privacy Policy

ReroofPulse ("we") publishes a free weekly email and website report about roof-replacement permits in Southern California. This policy explains what we collect when you sign up and what we do with it.

## What we collect
- **Your email address** (required to subscribe).
- **Optional:** your company name and the ZIP codes or areas you're interested in.
- **Basic email engagement data** that our email provider may record, such as delivery and whether a message was opened or a link clicked, depending on settings.

We don't ask for payment details, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

## How we use it
- To send you the weekly ReroofPulse email and occasional service notices.
- To tailor content to the areas you choose, if you choose any.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the newsletter is used and improve it.

## Who processes it
Our email service provider, **Buttondown**, stores subscriber data and sends emails for us as our processor. Its privacy policy: https://buttondown.com/legal/privacy. Our website host may log standard technical data such as IP addresses for security and operations.

## What we don't do
- **We do not sell or rent subscriber data** or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
- We don't publish homeowner names, street addresses or permit numbers in the free report.

## Where our report data comes from
The report is built from **public building-permit records** published by government open-data portals: the City of Los Angeles and the County of San Diego. We don't collect or publish property owner names. The free report shows ZIP-level counts only, and counts below 3 are withheld.

## Unsubscribing and your choices
Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at [email protected] to unsubscribe, update your preferences, or ask us to delete your data.

## California residents (CCPA/CPRA basics)
You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share subscriber personal information. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request.

## Retention
We keep your subscriber information while you're subscribed, and remove or anonymize it within a reasonable period after you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, unless we must keep it for legal reasons.

## Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, tell subscribers by email.
